In 2007, after a two year consultative process, the Principles of Good Practice for Student Affairs in Catholic Colleges and Universities were created and distributed to Catholic institutions in North America. Many institutions have been utilizing the Principles since their creation and the document, along with the diagnostic queries published in 2009, have become a source document for staff development, standards of practice, and even accreditation.
The Principles were developed under the sponsorship of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU), the Association for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASACCU), and the Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators (JASPA).
ACCU, ASACCU, and JASPA have embarked upon a "refresh" project of the original document.
